This is the 7th edition of the amazing Slackline Contest during the Sportsfestival in Munich, the “GLOBETROTTER WORLD SLACKLINES MASTERS BY GIBBON”!!! 

Since 2010 the battles are on at the today famous Königsplatz in Munich. It has established itself as the reference slackline contest and is the biggest crowd magnet of the entire festival. Be this year again part of this happening, when the best Trickliners from Brazil, Chile, Japan, USA, Spain, Estonia, Holland, Germany and more countries compete against each other. Whether second official Team Battles or the women’s contest – the daredevil moves of the athletes will once again be the highlight of the M-net Sportsfestival in Munich. 

In addition we will offer the possibility to experience your first personal steps on a slackline. With professional support of the GIBBON team we will offer you to test our Slackracks which are ideal for starting to balance. A highlight here will be the “Most Balanced City Challenge” a contest where the people of Munich will be challenged to compete against the city of Marseille in France to prove that more people can balance for 10sec on the slackline the citizens of Marseille.

Prior to the contest we will be offering yet another highlight!… the VIP Grillparty and Instore Highline Session at Globetrotter Munich, for any registered contestant, together with the GIBBON Pro team.

Details to the Team Battle (2 people per team):

Qualification round:

All Teams will start with a qualifying round to then select the final 16 Teams for the KO grid according to their performance. The performance of each team member is reviewed and decisions are made based on the overall performance of the team. Extra points can be collected via tandem performances with both team athletes on the slackline together. Btw… teams can consist out of any gender and be mixed either national or multinational. So girls… your chance to take part in two contests in one day!

KO Rounds:

The remaining 16 Teams are then challenging each other in knock out battles. The teams compete in a 2 vs 2 battle, where the each participant takes turns to perform on the slackline. In comparison to the single battles the time for the team starts as soon as the competitors step or fall of the line. To collect extra points each team has the chance to perform 2 times together on the line in tandem style.

 
Prize money:
1st place: 1.000€, 2nd place: 500€, 3rd place: 250€

Women’s battles:

This year´s contest will once more have international guests from Brazil and Japan. A limited starter bracket of 16 female contestants will be fought out in 1 vs 1 knock out rounds.

Judging:

To keep the contest and show entertaining, the overall performance is judged on the factors: difficulty, diversity, creativity, performance, style and amplitude. Due to the paste of performance in 2 vs 2 battles and in general a more exact judging method, we will be extending the line of judges from 3 experienced judges to another 2 extra judges coming from the athletes themselves.

 
Prize money:
1st place: 500€, 2nd place: 250€, 3rd place: 125€
