The SlackYard is designed for grass and compact soil. It is not suitable for sand or extremely soft ground. For softer ground, extend your ground anchors and add more screws per side. For hard or dry soil, try wetting the grass first so the screws drive in more easily.

Yes. The SlackYard allows beginners to start just a few centimetres off the ground. Begin with a short, tight line for stability, then increase the length as your balance improves.

Yes. The SlackYard includes heavy-duty A-frame pedestals, GIBBON webbing, a high-tension ratchet, and GIBBON ground-screw anchors. A standard power drill is required.

At maximum extension, the SlackYard spans 9 metres and stands 43 cm tall. It weighs approximately 15 kg.

Initial assembly takes about 15–20 minutes. The SlackYard is weather-resistant, and most users set it up at the start of the season and leave it assembled throughout the summer.

No. The SlackYard builds on the balance skills you develop with the SlackBoard. It provides more space for slacklining while maintaining a low setup height.

The ground screws leave small holes, similar to those made by a lawn aeration tool. The grass recovers within a few days. No concrete or digging is required.

The maximum user weight for the SlackYard is 180 kg. It is designed for one user at a time.

Extend the ground anchor (at least one hole must still overlap) and add more screws per side to increase stability.

Use the lowest setting for lines 1–2 m long, the second hole for a 3 m line, and the third or fourth hole for lines longer than 3 m.

Start with the pedestals 1 m apart. The maximum recommended distance is 5 m. Always check the anchors and ratchet before each session.

Yes. You can use webbing from other GIBBON sets, but the usable length will be shorter because of the height of the A-frames.

The SlackBoard DUO has two parallel lines. Double lines are recommended for children up to 5 years old, standing workstations, and therapeutic use. For most users, a single-line SlackBoard offers the greatest balance training benefits.

The SlackBoard SE (Special Edition) has a limited-edition design printed on Canadian maple wood. Its performance is identical to the standard SlackBoard.

Yes. The SlackBoard can be used indoors and outdoors, including at home, in the garden, at the beach, or in the office. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight to protect the wood.

Yes. The low setup height is suitable for beginners and other skill levels. Your foot stays close to the ground, so you can step down and restart easily.

Yes. You can also order it fully assembled and ready to use. The optional professional Setup Service costs 14.95 €.

Yes. You can replace the line or add a second line for a double-line setup. Replacement cork pads are also available.

Double lines are recommended for young children up to 5 years old, standing workstations, and therapeutic use. For other users, a single line provides greater instability and balance training benefits.

The maximum setup length is the length of the set minus the webbing needed to go around both anchor points, which are usually trees.

We do not recommend leaving your GIBBON slackline set up when it is not in use. Doing so can reduce the performance of the webbing over time and may damage the anchor points, such as trees.

Start by learning to balance on one leg, with your back straight, arms raised, and steady, deep breathing. Once you can balance on either leg, take your first steps by initiating movement from your hips rather than your shoulders. Shaking legs are normal at first and improve with practice.

Use a setup suited to your skill level. Start with a low, short line. As your skills improve and the line feels easier, gradually increase the length and height.

Yes – wash the webbing with cold water and a small amount of neutral soap. Never wash the metal parts or the ratchet; keep all hardware dry. Treat the ratchet regularly with synthetic lubricant to prevent rust.

Extra ratchets, band slings, and other replacement parts are available in our Accessories range. Separate webbing and advanced accessories are available in the Modular Series.

Both options are suitable, depending on your preference. Bare feet provide more direct contact and grip on the webbing, while shoes provide more support and protection.

Yes. Tricks are possible on any GIBBON slackline. The GIBBON Jibline and Surfer Line are suitable for intermediate tricklining. The Trickline Webbing Series is designed for advanced tricklining.

Set the slackline below the user’s hip height, but high enough that it does not touch the ground during use.

Tree protection is always recommended. GIBBON Treewear helps prevent abrasion and damage to trees and other anchor points. If the Treewear is too short to wrap around the tree, position it at the front, facing the direction of the line. The tension is higher at the front of the tree, where the sides of the slackline run, than at the back.

The batch code is on the label attached to the slackline or the ratchet band. It starts with “PO” followed by a number.

For learning tricks, we recommend the GIBBON Jibline or the longer GIBBON Surferline. Both lines have the same stretch and differ in design and length. For advanced tricklining, we recommend the Trickline Webbing Series, available in our online shop.

We recommend the GIBBON Independence Kit, or individual parts of the kit if you already have one suitable tree. Once the anchor is installed, the kit allows quick assembly and several setup options using the same anchor position.

Check that the ratchet was set up correctly and that the webbing is not blocking the ratchet lever. Keep your hands and fingers away from all moving parts to avoid injury. Use a screwdriver to lever open the blocked part until the tension can be released normally.

No. GIBBON Classic sets have a loop for a girth hitch around a tree, so they cannot be used with a second ratchet. You can replace the existing ratchet and band with a GIBBON Powerratchet and band sling.

The XXL ratchet is recommended only for the GIBBON Modular Webbing Series. See our website or Slack app for product details and your nearest dealer.

We recommend no more than 100 lbs of tension for beginner sets. In general, the tension is sufficient when the line vibrates when flicked.

Our slacklines are rated from 3000–6000 lbs, depending on the type. The recommended maximum user weight is 250 lbs, and only one person should use the line at a time. For Independence Kits, the maximum user weight is 240 lbs.

Slacklining is suitable for all ages. Children under 12 should use GIBBON slacklines only with support and supervision.

The GIBBON Slow Release system releases slackline tension gradually without opening the ratchet lever. This avoids abrasion of the slackline and damage to the ratchet during release. For more information, see this video.

Do not use your GIBBON slackline if there is noticeable damage to the webbing, ratchet, or any other part of the system.

Yes. The sets differ in design and performance, including webbing type, width, and length. The main difference between lines is their elasticity.

For beginners, we recommend the GIBBON Classic or GIBBON Funline. Both are durable and can be set up at a low height. The Classic Line is currently our most widely used beginner slackline.

Metal parts can develop rust if they are exposed to weather or are not kept dry. Keep your ratchet clean and dry, and treat it with synthetic lubricant.

No. We strongly advise against using any GIBBON slackline if there is visible damage to the webbing, ratchet, or any other component. Discontinue use immediately and contact your retailer or our support team.

The ratchet drum is designed to hold about 2–3 rotations of webbing. This problem usually occurs when the slackline has not been pre-tensioned by hand before using the ratchet. See the user manual for details.

For beginners, we recommend placing the ground screws 25–30 ft apart. The length can be adjusted using the A-frames while the slackline is not under full tension. The A-frames also provide three setup heights. When properly installed, the ground screws are rated at a strength of 4000 lbs. The maximum user weight is 240 lbs.

The main differences are the webbing and included accessories. The SlackRack Fitness has thinner webbing, which produces more vibration, and includes a Tera band and an exercise poster. We recommend the SlackRack Classic for family use and the SlackRack Fitness for balance and coordination training.

You can use the Independence Kit, which includes two frames and two ground screws. If you have small trees or a metal pole, you can also use our indoor gym set. It is similar to the Independence Kit but does not include ground screws. It uses the base of the pole or tree as an anchor, like a standard slackline setup.

The GIBBON Independence Kit can be set up at heights of 30 cm, 50 cm, and 70 cm.

Yes. The GIBBON SlackRack can be used indoors and outdoors. Exposure to weather may cause the metal parts to deteriorate.

Yes. The GIBBON Balance App is free and has no in-app purchases. It is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. A free GIBBON account is required to access all features.

The app provides structured training programmes and videos for all skill levels, from first steps on a slackline to advanced training. It also includes content specifically for the SlackYard.

An internet connection is required to use the GIBBON Balance App. Content is streamed and cannot currently be downloaded for offline use.

No – the GIBBON Balance App does not automatically collect personal data without your consent. It has no access to health data stored on your smartphone, such as Apple Health or Google Fit.

No – the GIBBON Balance App does not integrate with third-party fitness tracking services or health apps.

The GIBBON Balance App is available in more than 4 languages. Check the App Store or Google Play listing for the current list of supported languages.

All GIBBON products are covered by the statutory 2-year warranty under EU law, starting from the date of purchase. This covers manufacturing defects and material faults under normal use conditions.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, improper use, modifications, or neglect – for example, using a damaged slackline, leaving the ratchet exposed to weather without maintenance, or exceeding the stated weight limits.

For all warranty claims, please contact your point of purchase first. Retailers are responsible for processing warranty claims and will liaise with us directly in case of disputes. If you purchased via our online shop, contact support@gibbon-slacklines.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the defect.

Rust caused by exposure to moisture and weather is considered normal wear and is not covered under warranty. To prevent rust, always keep your ratchet dry, clean it regularly, and treat it with synthetic lubricant after use outdoors.

Orders are shipped via UPS and DHL. If you are not at home at the time of delivery, the carrier will leave a notification card in your letterbox or contact you by SMS or phone to arrange redelivery.

Yes – once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a tracking link by email from UPS or DHL. Use this link to follow your delivery in real time.

Customs duties, import taxes, and other local charges are not included in the shipping price and must be paid by the customer.

In the event of a lost or damaged shipment, please contact the carrier directly – UPS or DHL – using the tracking number provided in your dispatch confirmation email. The carrier is responsible for investigating and resolving transit claims.

If your parcel is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, the cost of re-shipping to the correct address will be charged to you. GIBBON cannot be held liable for lost orders resulting from an incorrect address entered at checkout.

For orders shipped outside the EU, local customs duties and import fees may apply. These charges are the sole responsibility of the customer. GIBBON has no control over customs processing times, which may cause additional delays.

Consumers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 1 month of receiving the goods, without giving any reason. This right applies to natural persons purchasing for personal, non-commercial use.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, notify us in writing within the withdrawal period by email at support@gibbon-slacklines.com or by post to: ID SPORTS GmbH, Parlerstraße 6, 70192 Stuttgart, Germany. You can use the standard withdrawal form included with your order, though this is not mandatory.

The cost of return shipping is borne by the customer. Please ensure the goods are securely packaged – ideally in the original packaging – to avoid damage in transit. Do not send returns freight collect (unfree).

Once we have received the returned goods (or proof of return shipment), we will refund all payments – including standard delivery costs – within 14 days, using the same payment method as the original transaction. No additional fees will be charged for the refund.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to custom-made or personalised products tailored specifically to your requirements. It also does not apply to consumers residing outside the EU whose sole place of residence and delivery address is outside the European Union at the time of purchase.

Please return the goods in their original packaging, complete with all accessories and packaging components where possible. If the original packaging is no longer available, use suitable protective packaging to prevent damage during transit.
