Slackline WorldCup at Freakwave Festival, Austria
The Freakwave Festival, GIBBON Slacklines and the WSFed (World Slackline Federation) proudly present the 2nd tour stop of the Slackline WorldCup 2012 on the 31.08. and 01.09. 2012!
The Freakwave Festival is an event which combines sport, music, art and lifestyle in a way that makes it popular to the audience, as well as the media. Since 2011 the Freakwave is the venue of the Slackline WorldCup Austria. In 2012 the WorldCup will be the sportive highlight of the festival.
The best eight slackliners of the WSFed world ranking list are seeded for the competition:
Andy Lewis (USA), Michael Payton (USA), Lukas Huber (IT), Maurice Wiese (DE), Alexander Mason (USA), Toru Osugi (JP), Luis Meier (DE) und David Schmidt (DE)
Anyone, who wants to participate in the competition, is invited to take part in the online video qualification in advance and win one of the four wildcards!
One of the wildcards is an all inclusive package, which includes travel cost, accommodation, food and the direct qualification to the round of the best 16. The other three wildcards includes the direct qualification to the competition. The online competition starts on the 30th of July and ends on the 5th of August. Further five participants will be selected by the Judges during the direct qualification on the 31th of August in Bregenz. Supported by the sound system “Suzzlic Stereo” the best trickliners in the world will show their latest and craziest tricks on the line. Everyone is welcome to experience and enjoy the growing international Slackline scene at this wonderful event. Besides the WorldCup competition there will also be a nice waterline and a slackline area where everyone can try out slacklining. Besides this the festival offers a lot of funsport activities, concerts, DJs, streetart and much more.
