Porirua is a city in the Wellington Region of the North Island of New Zealand, and one of the four cities that constitute the Wellington metropolitan area.

Porirua City is a vibrant, diverse, exciting city and we want to share it with you. You just can’t top the relaxed lifestyle Porirua City has to offer. The city overlooks a stunning harbour and includes 54 km of coastline. Equally as impressive are our rolling hills offering a rural lifestyle. You’ll hear locals often remark that when they get home they feel like they are on holiday – and it’s true.

Porirua is also home to New Zealand’s first permanent Slackline Park, built by the council in Ngatitoa Domain in 2016.

On Thursday the 19th of October  we are participating in the Gibbon Global City Balance Challenge.

SlackCity Porirua aims to:

1. Celebrate our city. Bringing together the wonderful people who make up our city in a unique challenge that takes on the world.

2. Showcase slacklining to as many people as possible in our region. We believe that slacklines are excellent for fun, community and health. We also believe that slacklining compliments the New Zealand outdoor spirit and balanced lifestyle.

Between now and September 30th our team will be getting out into the community, demonstrating slacklining and encouraging people to join us on the day. We hope that our city will set the balance record. If you’d like more details check out the links below.
